Learning how to drive and getting your driver’s license is a huge rite of passage. It’s your first taste of mobile independence and it’s an exciting, often nerve-wracking time for all new drivers! In between practicing for your driving test and studying for the written test, you’ve also got to start thinking about some logistics. Are you sharing a car with a family member, or buying or leasing your own? Have you gotten a quote for your first auto insurance policy? Don’t get overwhelmed - we’re offering everything from driving tips for beginners, to answers to all your auto insurance questions!
Preparing for Your Driving Test
First things first: you need to pass your various driving tests in order to get behind the wheel! Just like with anything else in life, practice makes perfect. The more comfortable you are behind the wheel, the more confident you’ll feel when it’s time to master the driving portion. Our recommendation? Take a driver safety course, and drive, drive, drive (with a responsible adult of course)! Experience will help you pass your test, but more importantly, help you practice your safe driving skills.
To prepare for the written test, take some of the many practice tests available online. Head to the official DMV website for your state to see what they offer. There’s a good chance that the questions on your driving test will be taken from your state’s DMV or driver’s manual, so give those books a glance if you can. An internet search may turn up a PDF copy in a snap.
